April/May issue of Subiesport

Ss21cover The April/May issue of Subiesport was dropped at the post office today. We also decided to make the digital edition available today as well. Print subscribers will receive their access codes in the next 48-hours. Digital subscribers can access it immediately. Everyone else can peruse 15 pages (any 15 pages, so click wisely) of the issue by selecting "Preview" when prompted for a login.

We're really happy with this issue. Where the last issue focused on the world-wide Subaru community, this new one has a heavy focus on the cars and making them even better: From tuning the 2008 Impreza STI for more power to testing Endura-Tech coilovers on our Project Legacy GT. We even have our annual rally guide and one of our reporters tells of drinking to excess and getting naked in the Arctic circle -- hey, somebody's got to do it.

Here's the complete content roundup: Tuning the 2008 Impreza STI, Hot bugeye wagon, STI in Pink, Harman Motive's white wonder, 2008 Rally Guide, Alcan 5000, WRC coverage, 100 Acre Wood, Kumakubo and fuel system tech with Tim Bailey. Project Legacy GT gets a new grille from Mach V motorsports, a blingin' BOV from Go Fast Bits and Global Performance Parts, plus hot coilovers tested from Endura-Tech. Project Dreadnought (1993 Impreza L Wagon) gets the following: 22B Widebody kit from HTAutos, fresh clutch and flywheel, Whiteline suspension bits from Global Performance Parts.

This new issue will be available on newsstands the first week of May or via our company store (www.carzines.com), immediately. If you subscribe to the print edition between now and May 6, this issue will be your first issue on the subscription as we're now doing "second mailings" to minimize the lag time for new subscribers. New digital subscribers will receive immediate access to the issue.

Canadian Postal Delays

Canada_2 Subiesport shipped its Canadian copies along with the US deliveries, back on February 15. After receiving numerous inquiries from our Canadian subscribers about issues not arriving, we did some checking and this was what we found out:

According to our shipper, due to the weak US dollar there is a huge spike in US orders from Canadians. This increase has swamped Canadian customs and has delayed all shipments into the country. If you haven't received your copy yet, it's coming. Even if we mailed a replacement issue it, too, would be delayed at the border and would most likely arrive after our original mailings.

This problem isn't unique to Subiesport. Our press also handles Grassroots Motorsports, Sports Car International and other big titles. They indicated that they are receiving the same information for all the magazines going into Canada right now.

Please allow an additional week, March 21, before requesting a replacement issue to Canada, to allow time for Canadian customs and the Canadian Postal Service to do their part.

Reader's Rides: Boxer Rumble

Cellphone_subie The Feb/March issue of Subiesport Magazine features our first-ever "Boxer Rumble" Edition of Reader's Rides. The object of this is to vote on your favorite ride of the issue by sending an SMS message from your phone. The car that wins gets some cool swag and bragging rights. This month we have two Legacy GT's duking it out: wagon versus sedan.

Though the wagon took a commanding lead in the first few days of the contest (when subscribers first started receiving copies), it seems as though our newsstand readers have been pushing back with heavy votes for the sedan: as of this afternoon it's a dead-even 50:50 split. But we have almost a full month of voting to go! Who will win? Grab the new issue, turn to Page 15 and place your vote!
