Subaru racing hits Portland, Oregon!
The first-ever Driving Sports Time Attack hits Portland, Oregon, this weekend! A part of the Mazda Grand Prix of Portland, the Driving Sports Time Attack Challenge invites all makes and models to test their mettle against the smooth turns of Portland International Raceway in three classes: Modified, Pro/Supercar and Formula.
Several Subaru owners have thrown their hats into the ring, including Subiesport's own Tim Bailey, who will be making the public debut of his project STI. This car has a turbo the size of my head, and bolts the size of my fist keeping things together. Also don't miss Performance Race Engineering as they bring out their 2002 Time Attack car, which made its debut at the first Subiefest in Seattle. Rounding out the ranks of Subaru owners competing includes Rod Hindman of Hot Rod Racing, Eddie Nakato sponsored by AR Auto Service, Mike Sampson with Gig Harbor Autoworks and Eric Cotten representing World One Performance.
Cobb Tuning will also be on hand, but they left their Subarus at home for this one. Instead, they're bringing Godzilla to the party! That's right, the COBB R35 GT-R will be at Portland International Raceway and it will be running hot! They also brought out the plucky Mazdaspeed3 Time Attack racer.
The Mazda Grand Prix of Portland runs though the weekend of July 25-27, with Time Attack finals starting Saturday at 5pm -- immediately following Formula D.
